Parlavoz

Talk with anyone, in their language.

Put your iPhone on the table between you. Each person reads their half in their own language, and with Pro nobody presses a button between turns.

What Parlavoz does

Hands-free conversation (Pro)

Parlavoz notices who is speaking, translates and reads it aloud. While someone is still talking, a first translation already shows in gray, and the final one replaces it when they stop.

When they ask you

The nurse asks "Any allergies?" and the answer from My card is already there to tap, said out loud in their language. My card is free and stays on your iPhone, out of iCloud and backups. You can also pin a note while you listen and search your past conversations by words or by meaning. With Pro and Apple Intelligence you also get reply ideas, your notes filled in and answers from your saved conversations.

Screenshots, photos and PDFs

A group chat or a letter from school you can't read? Share the screenshot, photo or PDF to Parlavoz and the translation sits right on top of the text. Set Back Tap to "Translate the latest screenshot" and two taps on the back of the phone do it. 3 a day free; with Pro, no limit and PDFs up to 50 pages.

I'm going to…

Pick one of 24 countries and get the phrases you'll need there, the local emergency numbers, a few things worth knowing before you land and a countdown to the day you leave. Free.

Your English every day

A few minutes a day in 12 scenes with a real back-and-forth: the doctor, the pharmacy, your kid's school, a job site, the landlord, the bank, the airport, a hotel, a restaurant, a taxi, a store and an emergency call. Say it, hear it, repeat it, catch prices and times said out loud, and answer back. Your streak allows one day off a week. Scenes and numbers are in English only; for other languages, practice with the phrases.

Listening captions

Talks, tours, the TV: captions in your language, also in your headphones. 2 minutes a day free; with Pro, for as long as it lasts. Afterwards Pro can turn them into notes with the main points and the new words (needs an iPhone with Apple Intelligence).

Camera

Menus, signs and labels translated right where the text is.

Small things that help

Tap a word to look it up in the dictionaries on your iPhone. With Pro and Personal Voice, your translated sentences can be read in your own voice.

On your phone, offline

Translation and speech recognition run on your iPhone with Apple's own models, so once a language is downloaded it works without a signal. Parlavoz doesn't translate phone calls, and Settings shows the exact list of languages your device can translate.
